Plant No. MO-003-003
Big, open and properly fenestrated, with the colour to match.
The leaf has opened with deep cuts and holes on both sides of the midrib. White is marbled through deep green across the whole blade in fine streaks, and towards the tip it gathers into a broad cream sector. The roots show through the clear pot, and you can see them in the later photos.
This is the exact plant you will receive. Its number, MO-003-003, is printed on the label in the pot, and you can see it in the photos. It has been grown on here in our London studio.
A note on the white sections
The pale parts of a variegated leaf contain no chlorophyll. That tissue is thinner and more fragile than the green, holds water less well, and marks where green would not. On a leaf carrying this much white, a small brown edge or fleck in a cream patch is normal rather than a fault.
It can also appear in transit. A few days in a box or a change in humidity, and the white areas are the first to show it. This is cosmetic. A patch that has browned usually stays as it is, does not change how the plant grows, and new leaves come in fresh.
I pack every plant carefully and only send ones I would be happy to receive myself, but I would rather you knew this before buying.
